No other trek in the Phong Nha – Ke Bang national park is more authentic and remote than the Tiger cave series adventure. These 3 caves are deep in the unspoiled jungle, far from the modern world. To reach these caves you will take a newly established route into the heart of the national park.

The Tiger cave series adventure has been done by very few people. In fact, less people have been through these 3 caves than any other treks in the country. Being a freshly establish trail this route is an extremely authentic jungle trek to the Tiger cave series, consisting of the “not so little” sister cave of Son Doong cave, Pygmy cave.

This trek is perfect for group adventures and those looking for an exciting challenge with an incredible reward. You and your company will camp, swim and trek through the jungle for three days. You’ll walk and scramble the 1.6km through Tiger cave, explore the 3.2km of grotto decorations inside Over cave, and abseil into the massive cavern of Pygmy cave, the 4th largest cave in the world.

Itinerary

Day 1: Phong Nha – Kong collapse of Tiger cave

07:30 AM: Pick you up from your hotel and bring you to our office. Have a briefing about the Tiger cave series adventure 3 days 2 nights then depart for the adventure.

10:00 AM: Reach the km24 of road 20 victory and start your trek

12:00 AM: Have lunch on the trail

03:00 PM: Reach the Tiger cave, explore 1.5 km into its depths and marvel at the formations inside. Set up camp inside the Kong collapse and enjoy a mouth watering dinner prepared by our porter team

Day 2: Tiger cave – Over cave — Pygmy cave

08:00 AM: Enjoy our delicious breakfast and set off

09:00 AM: Trek through 1km of pristine jungle to reach the Over cave. Trek 3,2km through the cave to reach the magnificent exit. Have lunch inside the cave.

03:00 PM: Trek a further 300m through tropical jungle to reach the entrance of Pygmy cave.

04:00 PM: Go caving 800m inside the cave to the second campsite inside the Pygmy cave. Enjoy an amazing dinner again at the mouth of Pygmy cave.

Day 3: Pygmy cave – Phong Nha

07:30 AM: Enjoy breakfast

08:30 AM: Start off the trek by navigating over sharp rock up a very steep incline to reach the top of the valley.

Make your way down into the valley itself (takes around 2 hours in total). Have a slight uphill trek toward the roadside.

Enjoy cold drinks at roadside of the 25th km like a celebration when you completed your adventure.

04:00 PM: Back to Jungle Boss and your hotel. Tour Tiger cave series adventure 3 days 2 nights ends.

Included/Excluded

Adventure local tour guide, safety assistant & porter support team. Pick – up and drop – off at any local hotels in Phong Nha (out of Phong Nha, please pre – arrange with our adventure sales team)
Entrance fees (1,300,000vnd/person for the national park protection)
Caving and safety equipment: caving harness, ropes, lifeline, caving helmet, caving headlight, life jacket, gloves
Camping gears: Double shared or single tent, foam layer, air mattress inflation, pillow
Camping lights for dinning area

Use of basic trekking canvas shoes size 36 to 45 (only if you don’t have your own pair)

We also recommend you to prepare
2 long easy – to – dry pants and 2 long sleeved shirt to wear during the trek (highly recommend to avoid leeches and poison ivies
1 pair of trekking boots/shoes (good grip and Non waterproof as your feet will completely get wet anyways). If you borrow one from us, please prepare your own thick socks or insoles to minimize blisters o 1 change of clothes for evening camp o 1 pair of flip – flop or sandals for the camp o personal camping light/torch o water proof bag for your phone and camera
1 pair of calf – length densely woven socks (not ankle socks)
Personal items: mosquito repellent, sunglasses, hat, camera o travel insurance
