Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi city tour (L/D)
07:45 – 08:30 AM: The tour guide picks you up at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter.
Start the trip with Tran Quoc pagoda – a Buddhist relic of a national heritage lying on the West Lake.
Discover Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum, the final resting place of Vietnam’s greatest father; his house – on–stilt and One Pillar pagoda – modeled after a lotus flower, a symbol of Hanoi.
Visit the Temple of Literature constructed in 1070 dedicating to Confucius, sages, and scholars. It was also the first university in Vietnam once.
(Notes: Ho Chi Minh mausoleum close on Monday and Friday)
12:30: Relax and have lunch at the restaurant.
OPTION 1: VIET NAM ETHNOLOGY MUSEUM ( TUESDAY, THURSDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY )
Arrive at Ethnology museum to learn about the cultures of 54 ethnic groups living in Vietnam
OPTION 2: BAT TRANG CERAMICS VILLAGE (MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY)
Explore the daily life of the traditional ceramics village of Bat Trang. Visit showrooms and see how they model the products.
Arrive at the legendary Hoan Kiem lake, and visit Ngoc Son temple dedicated to Tran Hung Dao – General Commander for his struggle against Mongolians.
03:30 PM: Drop you off at your hotel.
Evening: Have dinner at the restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi - Perfume pagoda (B/L/D)
Have breakfast at the hotel.
07:30 AM: Pick you up at your hotel in Ha Noi Old Quarter then depart for Perfume pagoda (60 km west of Hanoi).
Have a break of 20 minutes halfway to relax and experience Vietnamese handicraft products such as lacquer wares, paintings, embroideries…
Take a 50 minutes boat ride along the riverside, and begin enjoying the beautiful landscape of streams and paddy fields.
Next, start hiking up to a unique pagoda inside Huong Tich cave on the mountain summit (2,5 km in height). You will have a feeling of entering the holy land of Buddhism while experiencing the breath-taking views of the surroundings.
12:30: Go back down and enjoy lunch at the restaurant.
Continuously, lunch is followed by a visit to the Thien Tru pagoda, considered one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam. Its name means the kitchen in Heaven.
On a patrol to the south of a King under the Le dynasty, the King stop there and found that the pagoda is in the location of the Thien Tru star group, then he named the pagoda the name of the star.
Board the boat back to Duc dock and return to Hanoi.
Evening: Have dinner at the restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 3: Hanoi - Ninh Binh - Hanoi (B/L/D)
Have breakfast at the hotel.
07:30 – 08:30 AM: The guide will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi Old quarter then depart for Ninh Binh daily tour 1 day (Trang An, Bai Dinh).
10:00 AM: Arrive at Buddha Sanctuary place of Bai Dinh pagoda, visit the biggest one in Vietnam with 500 La Han statues, the biggest bronze Buddha statue in Vietnam and learn about Buddhism culture.
12:30: After having lunch with Ninh Binh specialties, go to Trang An eco-tourism attraction.
02:00 PM: Upon arrival, take the boat trip on the Trang An river to enjoy the cave complex: Sang cave, Toi cave, Ba Giot cave, Sinh cave…
05:00 PM: Return to Ha Noi.
Evening: Have dinner at the restaurant. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 4: Hanoi - Sapa - Cat Cat (B/L/D)
Have breakfast at the hotel then check out the room.
06:30 AM: Meet your guide and driver at your hotel, begin Sapa 2 days 1 night tour depart from Hanoi.
Follow the new Highway ‘Noi Bai’, Lao Cai, length 245km, will take around 5 hours to Sapa. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the region, while on the road.
12:00: Arrive in Sapa, enjoy lunch at the restaurant then proceed to visit.
01:30 PM: Exploring Cat Cat – Shin chai village of H’mong – a colonial French discovered area and a renowned resort to officials from the early twentieth century. Arriving to Cat Cat village, visitors will be visiting the Hydropower station, the waterfall of Cat Cat village, as well as learning about the culture, customs and unique people here with traditional crafts such as weaving, carved silver, hand forged agricultural tools.
Pick up from Cat Cat village and back to Sapa town. Enjoy a meal at a local restaurant.
Overnight in sapa.
Day 5: Sapa - Ham Rong / FANSIPAN LEGEND - Hanoi (B/L)
Have breakfast at the hotel and check out the room.
08:30 AM: The guide takes you around Sapa center climbing the mountain Ham Rong (Dragon’s Jaw) – one of the spectacular and wonderful peaks of Sapa.
(Option: If you do not want to visit Ham Rong, you can visit Fansipan with your budget).
12:00: Come back to Sapa town. Enjoy lunch at the restaurant. After lunch, you have all time free in the afternoon and night for leisure and shopping.
02:00 PM: The driver takes you back to Hanoi.
09:30 PM: Arrive in Hanoi, and we drop you off at the meeting point. End of Hanoi – Sapa – Ninh Binh 5 days 4 nights.

Local Flavor Meals: Don’t worry about meals; we select both restaurants and menus for you. Elephant Travel Company will select clean and good environment restaurants for our customer. Menu is also carefully selected by us to ensure you try different food every meal.

Travel Visa:
Most countries in South East Asia require you to obtain a visa. Please check carefully with your travel specialist regarding specific visa requirements for each country you plan to visit as the legislation does change frequently. Thailand offers a free visa on arrival to most nationalities. Other countries including Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar offer a “visa-on-arrival” service which requires you to pay a fee at the airport, or you may prefer to obtain this in advance through the relevant embassy or a visa agent. For visa-on-arrival in Vietnam, you must submit some paperwork before you arrive.
If you need our assistance with visa procedures for an option to get your visa for Vietnam instead of getting visa at the Vietnam consulate in your country. Please refer to the following steps:
Step 1: Provide us your application details
- Your full name (as exactly seen on your passport)
- Your gender
- Your date of birth
- Your nationality
- Your passport number
- Your passport expiration dates (with at least 3 vacats pagess and valid for at least 6 months)
- Date of arrival ( dd/mm/yy)
- Date of exit (dd/mm/yy)
- Arrival airport
Step 2: Process your visa information into a visa application
We will contact you for reviewing your visa information and then submit your application on your behalf to Vietnam Immigration department and follow other procedures pursuant to the regulations of Immigration department to get Visa approval letter granted by Immigration department.
We will send the visa approval letter via email to you after 07 working days.
After we obtain the visa approval letter from the Immigration department for you, we will forward you a scanned copy of it by email (Your visa information then has been recorded to the Visa system of the Vietnam Immigration department).
Step 3: Get your visa stamp on your arrival
Just print the approval letter out, prepare 2 passport sized photos and an amount of USD for stamping fee ($25 for single entry visa; $50 for 1 month multiple entry visa). Put all above mentioned things along with your passport in a package, and then show them to Immigration officer at Vietnam arrival airports.
Upon arrival at Vietnam’s airport, expect a simple form to fill in (or you can download form to fill beforehand), present the visa approval letter, passport, photos to the Immigration officer inside the counter and look for a place to hear your name be called to get the passport back and pay for the stamping fee.
