This design is rare, with only a few structures of its kind remaining in Vietnam. In Central Vietnam, the two notable examples are the Japanese Covered Bridge (Cau Pagoda) in Hoi An and Thanh Toan Bridge in Hue.
.
After visiting Thanh Toan Bridge, we proceed to Thieu Tri Tomb. From a feng-shui perspective, the layout of Thieu Tri Tomb resembles that of Gia Long Tomb. Unlike other tombs, it lacks a La Thanh (the outermost protective wall) and instead relies on the surrounding mountains as a natural barrier. This not only secures the tomb but also enhances its majestic appearance.
The tomb rests against Thuan Dao Mountain, while its front opens to a vast paddy field stretching from the Huong River bank to Lim Bridge. Due to its geographical conditions, the tomb faces northwest—a rare orientation in traditional Hue architecture. Approximately one kilometer in front of the tomb, Vong Canh Hill on the right and Ngoc Tran Mountain on the left form the symbolic guardians of a tiger and a dragon, protecting this serene resting place.
After visiting Thieu Tri Tomb, we will proceed to the Thuy Xuan Conical Hat and Incense Village.

It includes the royal palaces, shrines, gardens, and villas for mandarins. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993, the Imperial City is currently undergoing restoration. A visit to Hue would be incomplete without exploring this historically significant site, a treasure trove of Vietnam’s rich cultural heritage
After visiting the Imperial City, we will proceed to Thien Mu Pagoda, a historic and iconic temple in Hue, Vietnam. Built in 1601 by the first Nguyen Lord, Nguyen Hoang, the pagoda was constructed at the site where an old legend foretold its creation. According to the story, a celestial lady, known as Thiên Mu (meaning ‘Celestial Lady’), dressed in red and blue, appeared and prophesied that a lord would come to build a pagoda on the hill to pray for the prosperity of the country. Nguyen Hoang, who was the governor of Thuan Hoa (now Hue) at the time, ordered the temple’s construction after hearing the legend. Thien Mu Pagoda is not only a historical and spiritual symbol but also one of the most important landmarks in Hue.
