Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen Monastery founded by Venerable Master Thuong Thanh Ha is the monastery of Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen’s first building in Central. The monastery which began construction on 30/3/2006 has so far been completed including 3 areas: foreign aid, increased hospital, and nunnery with over 20 large and small items. Truc Lam Bach Ma is a complex of the picturesque scenes which became an attractive spot for tourists all over the world when coming to Hue ancient city.

The hill housing Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen Monastery is situated in the heart of Truoi Lake up like a flower leaning its head into untouched Bach Ma Mountain stretching out of sight. It will take about 15 minutes to get to the Zen monastery through Truoi Lake. Looking around from the Zen Monastery, tourists will find it easy to catch white clouds floating at the bottom of turquoise lakes or admire the stone statue of Buddha 24 meters high and weighing 1,500 tons meditating on the hill in front of the pagoda. Across the lake is the construction works of Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen Monastery hiding amid Linh Son Mountain.

Stepping over 172 stairs, tourists will reach the three-entrance gate of the Zen monastery which is towering, and majestic in the immense blue sky and white clouds. You will also have an opportunity to admire the architectural works of the Zen monastery harmoniously built in the structure of an architecture ensemble including an ancestry area, sanctum, monk hall, steeple, and stupas… gathering together around a lush primitive forest. Like other Zen monastery under Truc Lam Zen Yen Tu, the sanctum in Truc Lam Bach Ma is home to worshiping Buddha meditating under the bodhi tree. Behind the sanctum houses ancestry area worshiping Founder Dat Ma of Truc Lam Zen Monastery. The Monastery is a place to practice for male monks and male Buddhists, while the Nunnery is a specialized area for female monks and female Buddhists.

Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen Monastery is not only a place of poetic beauty with charming mountain scenery, and cool air, but also a place for you to admire the masterpieces of Buddhist art. From the ancient decorative motifs to the curved pagoda roofs. The bell tower is designed in the style of traditional Asian temple architecture, consisting of 2 floors and 8 curved roofs. The roof tiles are covered with scales, surrounded by carvings of ornamental flowers and vivid dragons.

The main architectural works of the Zen Monastery are harmoniously built in a large complex with the ancestral hall, the main hall, the temple, the road, the staff, the bell tower, and the relic tower. All gathered in a lush primeval forest. In these gardens and forests are precious trees and exotic flowers showing the beauty of nature’s gifts, made more beautiful by the caring hands of the monks, nuns, and Buddhists here.
