An overview of Lang Co beach
Lang Co beach is located in Lang Co town, Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province. It sits more than 60 kilometers from Hue city center and about 25 kilometers away from Da Nang city, right at the foot of the famous Hai Van pass. Lang Co is considered “an all-in-one place” with majestic mountains, white sand banks, and pure seawater filled with warm sunshine.
Legend has it that King Khai Dinh was the first to discover Lang Co beach. In the summer of 1916, which was the first year he ascended the throne, he took a tour of the landscapes stretching from Hue to Hai Van Pass and discovered this wonderful resort. King Khai Dinh highly appreciated the natural beauty of this beach and likened it to a fairyland.
After returning to the palace, the king decided to build a palace at Lang Co to come and rest during the summers. King Khai Dinh named the palace Tinh Viem and wrote an essay on Tinh Viem palace, which was carved on a stone stele and erected in Lang Co as a souvenir.

The weather in Lang Co Bay Hue is divided into two main seasons: the hot season and the cold season. The best time to explore Lang Co Bay is from April to August, when the sea water is clear, the waves are calm, and the weather is cool and pleasant.
Tourist Attractions Near Lang Co Beach
When coming to Lang Co, you can visit plenty of beautiful Hue attractions which are really interesting to visit.
Fishing village: On the beach you will see the basket boats that the fisherman use to peddle to the fishing boats just lying anchor of the coast. There is a local market in the middle of the village, that is mainly used to sell fresh seafood.
Lap An Lagoon: It brings in a quiet, romantic, yet equally majestic beauty that nature bestows. Lap An lagoon is the largest brackish water lagoon in the ancient capital of Hue and also a part of Lang Co Bay. It is a charming painting with high mountains, cool blue water like a dream. The four sides of the lagoon are surrounded by the majestic Bach Ma mountain range and it has extremely special aquatic resources.
Hai Van Pass: One of the interesting activities in Lang Co is watching the bay from Hai Van Pass. Hai Van Pass, which has always attracted visitors with its beautiful winding roads, is now even more attractive as visitors standing at the pass can zoom in and observe the entire Lang Co Bay with the charming moon-shaped tongue, sickle and beautiful scenes around.
Bach Ma National Park: Bach Ma Mountain fascinates visitors with its huge ecosystem that comprises about 500 species of plants and many rare species of creatures. When you come to Bach Ma mountain, you can visit famous stops such as Vong Hai Dai, Ngu Ho, Do Quyen Waterfall, and Truc Lam Bach Ma Zen Monastery in Hue.
Elephant Spring: If the waves at Lang Co beach are too big, or you prefer a nice fresh water pool to cool of, then a dip in the Elephant Spring is recommended. Here you will be immersed in the clear, cool water.
How to get to Lang Co beach Hue?
From Saigon, visitors can book a plane ticket to Hue and then hire a taxi to move to Lang Co Bay, which only takes about 75km. Alternatively, visitors can also fly to Da Nang, rent a taxi or car or take a bus through Hai Van Pass to reach the beautiful Lang Co.
Train: Lang Co also has it’s own train station; Lang Co train station (Ga Lăng Cô). The train from Da Nang to Lang Co takes 2 hours, but the train ride along Hai Van Pass is very spectacular. The train from Hue to Lang Co takes 2 hour and 45 min.
